The Delhi Police has released a traffic advisory ahead of the World Book Fair 2024 scheduled to take place at Pragati Maidan in central Delhi from February 10-18. With an expected footfall of 25,000 to 30,000 visitors daily and even higher numbers on weekends, traffic congestion is anticipated in the vicinity.

Affected Routes and Entry Gates:

The traffic advisory highlights the routes likely to experience congestion due to the fair, including Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Ring Road, Shershah Road, and Purana Quila Road. Entry for visitors will be permitted only through gate numbers 4 and 10, while exhibitors can access the venue through gate numbers 1, 5B, and 10. ITPO officials will have entry points at gate numbers 1, 5B, and 10.

Parking Restrictions and Alternatives:

To facilitate smooth traffic flow, no parking will be allowed on Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Shershah Road, Purana Quila Road, Bhagwan Das Road, and Tilak Marg. Vehicles parked in these areas will be towed away and subject to prosecution under the Motor Vehicle Act. Visitors are encouraged to utilize public transport options, with metro stations such as Supreme Court and Mandi House providing convenient access to Pragati Maidan.

Parking Facilities and Ticket Information:

Visitors arriving by car can avail parking facilities at designated areas such as basement parking number 1, Bhairon Mandir parking, Delhi Zoo Parking, and ITPO. Tickets for the fair are available online on the ITPO website and at select Metro stations of DMRC. Entry tickets can also be purchased at the gate, with prices ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 20.
