Middle-Class Friendly Budget 2024

Finance Minister Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 in the Lok Sabha today, February 1. In this interim budget, not only were there no changes in tax rates in both the old and new regimes, but special attention was also given to the middle class. Sitharaman announced new schemes by the Finance Ministry, benefiting the middle class. Here are some main points discussed:

1. Housing for the Middle Class: Sitharaman mentioned in the budget speech that the government will create a new scheme for the middle class, with the aim of helping those in the middle class who reside in rented accommodations, slums, or unauthorized colonies to buy or build their own homes.
2. Rooftop Solar Energy: Sitharaman announced a significant scheme for middle-income families – the Rooftop Solar Energy Scheme. According to her announcement, one crore families brought under the coverage of this scheme can receive free electricity up to 300 units every month. This scheme follows the historic day of the consecration of the life of Lord Rama in the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, in line with the resolution of the Honorable Prime Minister.
