In a surprising twist, a pond called ‘Neem Pokhar’ vanished overnight in Darbhanga, Bihar. DSP Amit Kumar, during a visit to Darbhanga city’s ward number 4, noticed the peculiar absence of the Neem Pokhar pond. Reports suggest that a group engaged in illegal activities has unlawfully filled the pond with soil, marking a shocking incident in the Kadirabad area under Vishwavidyalaya Police Station.

The folks living nearby noticed trucks and machines sneaking around at night for days, so they told the authorities. The police say the pond was government-owned, and the administration usually kept tabs on it. Strangely, the pond has vanished, replaced by a makeshift hut, and the area is now all fenced up. Quite a mysterious turn of events!

After lots of people complained, the police finally checked out the place once the pond was completely filled up. Residents say the sneaky filling of the pond has been happening for the last one to two weeks.With daytime crimes increasing, land mafias are back at it, grabbing government and even private lands left unwatched for years. This doesn’t bode well for Bihar’s efforts to boost its image at investor summits, as this news might scare away potential investors.
